full-stack developer

Welcome!

I'm Molly Wood! I'm a full-stack developer and trivia champion.

I also love old movies and breakfast tacos. I'm passionate about volunteering and have been lucky to find a place with the Junior League of The Woodlands, Inc, where I have held the positions of Assistant IT Chair, IT Chair, and currently, Social Media Member-At-Large. Through my connections with JLTW, I also took on a position with The Giving Gown Foundation, serving as the PR and Marketing Chair. I am also now serving on the board of the Greater Houston Area Out of the Darkness Walk, benefitting the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

I've loved technology since the age of 4, when I taught myself to read playing a logic game on my dad's work laptop. (Shoutout to Super Solvers: Treasure Mountain!) I taught myself HTML in the 7th grade, and later took a web mastering class in high school. After that, my skills remained mostly unused, aside from the occasional MySpace redesign, until I joined JLTW and decided that my mission was to re-create their very dated (practically GeoCities) website.

While it was mainly WordPress and required very minimal coding, this experience reminded me just how much I loved to create. Feeling unchallenged in my career path, I opted to take the plunge and jumped headfirst into a coding boot camp. It has been one of the most difficult, but most rewarding, experiences of my life.

I love that in this field, every day brings a new challenge. One must constantly be learning and growing in order to keep up with changing technologies and while that might be frustrating for some, for me it's a dream come true. I look forward to continuing to grow and facing new opportunities!
